There must be few more chilled out places for a lunchtime caffeine boost than by the glistening waters of the Regent’s Canal. One of the best places for a great coffee is the ingeniously named Canal No. 5 which opened in 2016.
We stopped off at the cafe and spoke to manager Arabella, while slurping on their super refreshingly Cafe Freddo or Iced Coffee.
Looking for food too? Their smashed avo is the runaway dish of choice and great for that lunchtime protein boost after a run along the canal. They do an all-day brunch menu.
They’ve got some tasty flatbreads with exotic flavours. From shredded sumac chicken to pan-fried mackerel with jewelled black rice and pomegranate salad.
We thought the location couldn’t be better for a bit of alcohol refreshment as the sun goes down. Luckily, Canal No 5 agreed.
They’re getting their alcohol licence sorted ready for the Easter weekend. So you’ll soon be able to sip your Espresso Martinis by the canalside.
The coffee is affordable, ranging between £2.20 for an Espresso to £3 for an Iced Coffee.
Smashed Avo and Eggs: £7.00.
Shredded sumac chicken flatbread: £8.50
Pan-fried mackerel flatbread: £7.50
There’s just one location. Tucked next to the lock by City Road Basin on Regent’s Canal.
