Looking for the best Portuguese wine and cuisine in Central London? Look no further than Bar Douro, located near Southwark.
This week we had the privilege of meeting owner Max Graham, who allowed us to try a glass of his finest white wine, the Churchill’s Estate (Douro, 2015).
Bar Douro, as the name suggests, specialises in wine and port sourced from the Douro Valley in Northern Portugal, an area where Mr Graham’s family have been making wine and port for two centuries.
The bar also works closely with independent winemakers to import a selection of Portuguese wines which are not yet available in the UK market.
And if you want to try Portuguese food with your wine, Bar Douro has a small-plate style menu.
These include delicacies such as: Octopus with Sweet Potatoes and Favas, and Croquettes de alheira (Portuguese Smoked Sausage).
Small plates cost between £4 – £13.
Wine is served by the glass at 125ml, 500ml and 750ml.
