Turkish Culture – A Haircut at the Bay Room Barbershop

So what’s special about a Bay Room haircut?

For many men, getting a haircut is a chore – a necessary evil and something to do once a month and as cheaply and quickly as possible.

But that will all change with a trip to the Bay Room on Goswell Road. This traditional Turkish Barber in the heart of Islington is much more than just a haircut – it’s an experience.

You’ll be welcomed by the friendly team and offered a choice of drink – on the house. Choose between water, a soft drink or even a beer.

Celebrity Clients

While you wait, check out the statues commemorating the visits of famous athletes – including Rugby World Cup Winner Jason Robinson and former heavyweight World Champion Mike Tyson.

And the most well-known current client? The Foreign Secretary himself, Boris Johnson. Whether you love or hate the former Mayor of London, you can be sure he loves a trip (and he makes them regularly!) to the Bay Room.

Price? Excellent Value for Money

The prices are reasonable too. If, like us at London Lunch-breaks, you’re a student, you can grab yourself a trim for only £15 – a competitive London rate.

Even the adult rate is only £2 more at £17, and if you want a shave as well it’s £25 for a student and £32 for an adult.

And don’t forget the price includes a free drink if your hard morning’s work has meant you’ve built up a thirst!

Where? Between Islington and the City

On the corner of Goswell Road and Lever Street, the barber’s is conveniently situated within a ten minute walk of Angel, Old Street and Barbican tube stations.

If you’re looking to make the most of your lunch break, turn to the Bay Room. A great value and fun place to have that all important grooming session.
