Football and other Active ways to spend your Lunch-break
The mercury hit 20 degrees in March, and April has started more brightly than any of us would have dared to hope. If like us here at London Lunch-breaks this balmy weather has got you itching to get outdoors then we’ve got just the solution.
At Finsbury Leisure Centre near Old Street, you can take part in a variety of activities and sports during your lunchbreak.
What Activities can I do?
If you’re bold enough to spend the bulk of your precious lunch hour braving the elements, then they’ve got several 5-a-side football pitches available to hire.
For the racket wielders, there’s a huge choice – you can take your pick between squash, badminton and table tennis.
And for those who just want to get fitter without the risk of losing to that person in the office you really can’t stand, then there’s a range of fitness classes on offer.
Choose between yoga, pilates, group cycling and, if you’re feeling really exotic during these heady spring days, turn your hand to Brazilian dancing. The world is your leisure centre.
Prices – it’s more affordable than you think
The prices to take part are reasonable for central London; although if you’re in the mood for a longer commitment then members get reduced rates as you’d expect. A game of 5-a-side would cost about £7 each between ten players.
Badminton comes in at about the same, while a squash court is £11 for an hour and table tennis only £6.
The gym classes range from £6-£10, offering competitive central London rates.
